On January 6th, good news came from CNOOC Changzhou Coating Chemical Research Institute Co.
    , Ltd.
(hereinafter referred to as Changzhou Coating Institute) that the megawatt-level wave energy power generation platform provided by Changzhou Coatings Institute for the whole ship with anti-corrosion and anti-fouling coating was recently successfully launched at COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Terminal in Dongguan, Guangdong, marking the first successful application of the "Award" brand marine heavy anti-corrosion coating independently developed by Changzhou Coatings Institute to the external large-scale offshore platform
    of CNOOC.

According to reports, the harsh corrosive environment and active marine biological attachment of the C5-M island and reef in the South China Sea where the wave energy power generation platform is in service put forward new requirements for the anti-corrosion and anti-fouling performance of the equipment, especially the matching of ballast tanks and under-waterline coatings has always been a recognized problem
in the field of international heavy anti-corrosion coatings.
With rich technology accumulation, Changzhou Paint Institute has successfully overcome a number of technical difficulties, and innovatively served the national marine strategy with corrosion analysis, coating design, product research and development, application construction, and technical service service model of the whole industry chain
    .

It is understood that the project is a key technology research and demonstration verification project of the megawatt-level wave energy power generation device led by China Southern Power Grid Guangdong Power Grid Company, which will provide stable and reliable green power
for the island with wave energy in the deep sea after completion.
Under full load conditions, the megawatt-level wave energy power generation unit can generate 24,000 kWh of electricity per day, which can meet the green electricity needs
    of about 3,500 households.
