    On January 22, United Nations Secretary-General Guterres wrote to the Cooperative Organization, applauding its efforts to promote the development of the Global Energy Internet.


    The former Minister of the Italian Ministry of Environment, Corrado Clini, once pointed out that the "Global Energy Internet" proposed by China aims to build a global interconnected power grid that can achieve any two places on the map no matter where the power plant is located.


    In the past five years, the cooperative organization has organized more than 50 international conferences and more than 500 presentations to spread the concept and development results of the global energy Internet, and gather a broader consensus and strength.


    The Global Energy Internet has been incorporated into the framework of implementing the "2030 Agenda", promoting the implementation of the Paris Agreement, promoting global environmental governance, and solving the problem of poverty and health without electricity, and has been included in the policy recommendations outcome document of the United Nations high-level political forum for three consecutive years.

      At the 8th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum in 2018, the Global Energy Internet was included in the Beijing Declaration and the Declaration of Action for China and Arab Countries to Co-build the Belt and Road Initiative.


      Multilateral cooperation, co-construction and sharing

      "The Global Energy Internet will strongly promote the global energy transition, respond to climate change, protect the ecological environment, promote economic prosperity and social progress, and is an important content and carrier for building a community with a shared future for mankind.


      As of March this year, the total number of members of the cooperative organization has reached 1,157, covering 132 countries and regions, covering energy, information, finance, science and technology, environmental protection and other fields; the cooperative organization and the United Nations and its affiliated institutions, relevant national governments, and international organizations , Enterprises and institutions have established cooperative relations, signed a total of 48 agreements to jointly carry out major research and project promotion; 4 professional alliances of Global Energy Internet University, Think Tank, Finance and Equipment have been established successively, with a total of 177 and nearly 40 League events.


      Under the guidance of the "Belt and Road" construction, the global energy Internet is becoming a breakthrough in the field of infrastructure interconnection, and cooperative organizations have also established a multi-level cooperation network with countries along the "Belt and Road".


      During the first and second “Belt and Road” International Cooperation Summit Forum, the cooperative organization released the “Belt and Road” National Energy Interconnection Research Report, “The Global Energy Interconnection Implementation of the “One Belt and One Road” Development Report” and other achievements, and proposed construction including new Eurasian Land Bridge, China-Mongolia-Russia and Northeast Asia, China-Central Asia-West Asia and other seven power corridors, a total of 67 key projects "Belt and Road" national energy Internet program, and signed more than 10 with relevant countries and United Nations agencies Cooperation agreement.


      The cooperative organization also proposed and promoted a number of "Belt and Road" power interconnection demonstration projects.


      Jeffrey Sachs, a professor at Columbia University in the United States and chairman of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, said that he very much hopes that the Global Energy Internet can become a benchmark multilateral solution for China’s “Belt and Road” initiative.


      Innovation leads and opens new paths

      Facing the financial and industrial difficulties that have plagued Africa’s energy development for a long time, the cooperative organization proposed a new model of “electricity-mining-metallurgy-industry-trade” linkage development, and relying on the development of the Congo River hydropower and the construction of Africa’s energy Internet, it contributed to the adoption of special features.
    High-voltage technology will send British Canada Hydropower to West Africa and support a "multi-win" package for the upgrading of Guinea's aluminum and steel industries.

      During the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, the cooperative organization signed an agreement with the Republic of Guinea and jointly initiated the establishment of the "African Energy Internet Sustainable Development Alliance" to promote the implementation of major projects of the African Energy Internet.
    At present, 20 African countries and more than 80 internationally renowned companies and institutions have applied for membership.

      AU Commission Vice-Chairman Kwadi encouraged African countries to "embrace" the Global Energy Internet.
    He believes that the construction of the African Energy Internet is of great value for Africa to absorb advanced technology, get rid of poverty, and achieve prosperity and development, and it will benefit 1.
