recently, Professor Sun Siyu, Vice President of Shengjing Hospital affiliated with China Medical University, won the second prize of the 2018 National Science and Technology Progress Award for his project "Establishment and Clinical Application of Endoscopic Ultrasound Minimally Invascopic Diagnosis and Treatment System". Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a combination of endoscopic and ultrasound gastrosound tract diagnosis and treatment technology. In view of China's lack of technology, lack of equipment, lack of norms, the project team after nearly 20 years of research and exploration, launched a series of endoscopic ultrasound-related innovation technology, the development of corresponding medical devices, led the formulation of a number of domestic and international guidelines and norms, for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of diseases put forward a "China program."
project team pioneered the treatment of mucosal tumors with EUS-guided injections, ligation and full-layer excision without hospitalization after surgery. Compared with surgery, the operating time was reduced by 53%, the complication rate was reduced by 27% and the cost of treatment was reduced by 65%. By the United States National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and Europe and the United States endoscopy, digestive society has been written in the relevant diagnosis and treatment guidelines. The project team of 6 medical institutions in the past 15 years completed more than 30,000 cases of fine needle puncture under the guidance of EUS, the average diagnostic accuracy and number of operations, are higher than the international level. In view of the characteristics of tumor diseases under mucous membrane in China, the Guide to the Application of Fine Needle Puncture under the Guidance of Chinese Endoscopic Ultrasound has been formulated, which standardizes this new method of accurate diagnosis. On this basis, the project team developed a series of innovative techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral lesions through the walls of the digestive tract through puncture needles under the EUS. The project team was the first EUS-led precision puncture implantation of pancreatic lesions into the digestive tract and the slow release of chemotherapy particles, which were written into the guidelines by the European Society. The project team was the first in the world to carry out puncture ablation treatment of celiac nerve joints under the guidance of EUS, and compared with CT intervention methods, to avoid the risk of major complications such as paraplegia, the lead organization developed the world's first international guidelines for EUS-guided celiac nerve ablation.
the project team independently developed the EUS-guided matching bracket and electro-implantation system, creatively changing the bracket into a matching device. Under the guidance of EUS, the application integrates the intelligent electric cutter head's placer, implants the matching bracket at the same time as the cavity organ puncture electrocution, and the unique double horn port of the bracket instantly fits the two organs together, creating a new method of minimally invasively matching organs with gastroscopy.
