    Recently, the project of "R&D and Application of Tunnel Guided Lighting Photovoltaic Energy Storage Power Supply System in High Altitude Area" jointly implemented by the Provincial Highway Construction Administration and Qinghai Times New Energy Technology Co.

    The Lancang River Tunnel of S309 Line is located in Zaduo County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, with an altitude of 4,050 meters and a total length of 2,080 meters, which is one of the
    tunnels located in cold and remote areas without electricity.
    In view of the lighting needs of the tunnel in the special environment of high altitude, low temperature and cold, the project team built two sets of optical storage microgrid systems of 50 kW/230 kWh and 100 kWh/230 kWh at both ends of the tunnel, driving 627 energy-saving lamps in the tunnel and electricity for the lighting of the work area
    .

    Since it was put into use in November 2015, after 6 months of operational testing, the entire system has worked well
    .
    The project is the first time to use photovoltaic energy storage system and LED energy-saving lamps for highway tunnel lighting at an altitude of more than 4000 meters, and the large-capacity energy storage battery used also has the characteristics
    of large capacity, long life, small size, high safety performance and basic maintenance-free.
    The project also adopted four new utility patents and developed ten new technologies
    in the industry.

    It is reported that many experts believe that the results of the project have reached the leading level in China, and recommend applying for scientific and technological awards and promoting their use
