Sinochem News learned from the National Atomic Energy Agency that on September 11, China's first high-level radioactive waste liquid glass curing facility was officially put into operation in Guangyuan, Sichuan

The joint project headquarters has verified and evaluated that since the project started the hot test on August 27 and produced the first tank of vitreous solidified by radioactive waste liquid, the product quality is controllable, the facilities are operating stably, and the relevant technical indicators have reached the international advanced level.

The disposal of radioactive waste is the last step in the safe use of nuclear energy, among which the most difficult and technically content is the disposal of high-level liquid waste

The project was approved by the National Atomic Energy Agency in 2004.
