In October 2014, China's polysilicon imports were 8,070 tons, a significant increase of 51.
5%
year-on-year.
From January to October, the cumulative import was 81,253 tons, an increase of 26.
6%
over the same period last year.
Polysilicon imports continue to remain high, with polysilicon imports expected to exceed 100,000 tonnes for the full year, up 21%
from the highest year.
In view of the fact that China's imports continue to remain high after the "double-reverse" ruling on polysilicon in the United States, South Korea and Europe, the Silicon Industry Branch of the China Nonferrous Metals Association believes that there are three main reasons:
1.
The United States imported 1178 tons of polysilicon through processing trade in October, accounting for 89% of the total imports from the United States that month, and the rest were imported from general trade channels for semiconductor polysilicon
that was not affected by "double reverse".
2.
Only the anti-dumping duty rate of 2.
4% was ruled on South Korean enterprises, which encouraged the continued expansion of Korean polysilicon enterprises and increased the impact on the Chinese market, and China's imports of polysilicon from South Korea ranked first
for six consecutive months.
3.
After giving Germany WACKER price concessions, German polysilicon companies started full power production, and imports continued to grow
