    China's lightning basic data is lacking, lightning risk assessment methods are not perfect, lightning strike differentiated prevention technology is missing, and lightning strike fault handling efficiency is low

    Through independent innovation, the project team has developed four key technologies in lightning and ground lightning monitoring, lightning strike discharge motor management, lightning strike differentiated protection and lightning fault monitoring, and after evaluation, the overall technical level has reached the international leading level, and some technologies have also filled the international gap
    .

    It is understood that the power grid lightning protection technology can be widely used in lightning damage prevention and control in electric power, railway, petrochemical and other industries

    In recent years, with the practical application of this batch of technologies, from 2011 to 2014, the lightning failure rate of the transmission system of the State Grid Corporation of China decreased by 50% compared with the average value in 2010.
    The lightning failure rate of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway and urban rail transit has been reduced by more than 70%, and the cumulative indirect benefits have exceeded 10 billion yuan
