    Leaf angle is an important determinant of rice plant type.



    Yao Shanguo's research team from the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences identified a pow1 ( put on weight 1 ) mutant with increased grain and leaf angles from a library of rice mutants mutated by NaN 3 .
