    With funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (project numbers: 2163201, 21772002, 81821004, 21933004), the research team of Jiao Ning, the State Key Laboratory of Natural Medicines and Biomimetic Medicines, School of Pharmacy, Peking University, and the theoretical computational chemist K.


    The bonding and breaking of carbon-carbon bonds is the most basic construction method of most organic molecular skeletons, and is an important way for the transformation of organic molecular-based substances.


    The study reported that a series of aromatic derivatives undergo selective cleavage and ring opening, thereby realizing the efficient conversion of these aromatics to high value-added six-carbon synthons (Figure 1)
