Metallic glass, also known as amorphous alloy, is a new type of functional material that realizes reversible shape change

Inspired by the plant Mimosa, researchers simulate the deformation behavior of earthquake-sensitive plants based on metallic glass, and use the buckling function generated by the size mismatch effect of metallic glass and its partially crystallized composite material to design a 3D structure of openable and closable metal.

In this work, a one-step forming, fast and scalable laser patterning method is used to design and fabricate 3D buckling structures of metallic glass
