    Osteoporosis and vascular calcification are two pathological phenomena that seriously threaten the health of middle-aged and elderly people


    The team found that bone cells can secrete bone matrix extracellular vesicles (B-EVs), which are released into the bone marrow cavity during bone resorption and transported to the blood vessel wall tissue through the blood circulation; derived from the elderly population (67-73 years old) B-EVs can significantly promote the adipogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and the osteogenic transdifferentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells; B-EVs derived from the elderly population were injected into young or old children through the marrow cavity.


    The team conducted in-depth research on the role and mechanism of B-EV in bone metabolism and vascular calcification, providing new ideas for the prevention and treatment of senile osteoporosis and vascular calcification
