    The Central African Republic (CAR) has begun construction of a national fibre optic backbone that will provide the first international fibre channel
    to neighboring Cameroon and Congo.

    According to the plan, the project will be implemented in the period 2018-2021 and consists of two routes with a total length of 1,000 km: Bangui-Boali-Bossembele-Yaloke-Bawi-Baoro-Carnot-Berberati-Gamboula-Kentzou (complete connection with Cameroon); and Bangui-Berberati-Nola-Bayanga-Bomassa (complete connection with Congo).
