On March 18, 2022, Croatia issued Announcement No.
NN36/2022, amendments to the Law on Food Additives , Flavourings and Food Enzymes .
The main revisions include: (1) Within the self-control and hazard analysis system, food operators are obliged to formulate control measures for the use of food additives, flavors, and enzymes, formulate annual product sampling plans, and inspect food ingredients .
Additives and flavourings used in the production and having a specified maximum permitted amount added or present in the product; (2) to replace Article 2 of the Regulation (EC) no.
European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 Regulation (EC) No 882/2004 promulgated dated 2009-09-19 on official controls for the verification of compliance with the Food and Feed Regulations and the Animal Health and Welfare Regulations (hereinafter: Regulation (EC) No 882/2004)” Amended as "Regulation (EU) 2017/625 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March 017 on official control and other official activities, ensuring the application of food and feed, animal health and welfare rules, plant health and plant protection products" ; (3) Some penalty clauses have been revised .
The announcement takes effect on the 8th day after its publication in the Official Gazette .
