(4) Operating instructions
1.
SO 3 2- +2H + →SO 2 ↑
The generated sulfur dioxide is introduced into the absorption bottle through the condensation tube under the impetus of water vapor.
2.
3.
Precautions:
(1) 5ml of hydrochloric acid should be added to bottle A along the wall of the bottle , and quickly sealed tightly to prevent the loss of SO 2 generated by the reaction
(2) Absorption bottle B can use a Nessler colorimetric tube with 100ml graduation, and the lower end of the absorption tube must be inserted as deep as possible below the liquid level of the absorption liquid
(3) The distillation speed should not be too fast, and it should take no less than 30 minutes for the distillate to reach 100ml
(4) When the sample contains a lot of volatile oil, the distillate may appear turbid.
