    The ammonium acetate exchange method is suitable for the analysis of the cation exchange capacity of neutral and acid soils, and the ammonium chloride -ammonium acetate exchange method is suitable for the analysis of the cation exchange capacity of calcareous soils.


    Second, the principle of the method

    The cation exchange capacity of acidic and neutral forest soils is determined by the 1mol/L ammonium acetate exchange method.


    The cation exchange capacity of calcareous forest soil is determined by the ammonium chloride-ammonium acetate exchange method.

    (1) Ammonium chloride , chemically pure


    (2) 1mol/L ammonium acetate solution (pH7.


    (3) Ethanol , for industrial use, must be free of NH 4 +


    (4) Liquid paraffin, chemically pure


    (5) Methyl red-bromocresol green indicator


    (6) 20g/L boric acid -indicator solution: 20g boric acid (chemically pure) is dissolved in 1L water


    (7) Concentrated hydrochloric acid, excellent grade pure


    (8) Borax, analytically pure


    (9) Buffer solution with pH=10: 67.


    (10) KB indicator: 0.


    (11) Magnesium oxide, analytically pure


    (12) Nessler's reagent: 134g potassium hydroxide is dissolved in 460mL water, 20g potassium iodide is dissolved in 50mL water, and approximately 32g mercury iodide is added to dissolve it to a saturated state, and then the two solutions are mixed together

    025mol/L hydrochloric acid standard solution: draw 2mL concentrated hydrochloric acid and dilute it with water, then add water to make the volume to 1L, and then calibrate with reference anhydrous sodium carbonate
