Diazomethane (also known as azidomethane) has been discovered in 1894 and has a history of more than 100 years
The structure of diazomethane can be expressed in resonance:
Alkanes in heavy ammonia are mainly used for the neutralization of carboxylic acids, alcohols, phenols, enols and nitrogen and sulfur heteroatoms.
1.
Diazomethane is a yellow gas at room temperature with a boiling point of -23°C.
2.
(1) Because diazomethane may explode when passing through the ground surface of the glass bottle, a special glass polishing connector device must be used to prepare diazomethane.
(2) Diazomethane is an explosive material.
(3) Grease the polished glass connector port
(4) The temperature of the water bath does not exceed 70℃
(5) The excess diazomethane can be quenched with dilute acetic acid until the yellow color disappears
(6) Try to choose to generate diazomethane in situ in the ether , so that it can directly react with the substrate, instead of using a diazomethane generator, so as to avoid accidents caused by dangerous operations such as distilling diazomethane ether solution
