Acute cholangitis is a serious infectious disease of the biliary tract , which requires timely treatment.
Researchers conducted a retrospective cohort study of patients with acute gallstone cholangitis who underwent endoscopic choledochectomy (EC) by endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography between April 2013 and May 2018.
A total of 95 patients with acute cholangitis were included in the analysis.
Therefore, this study strongly proves that patients with acute gallstone cholangitis undergoing endoscopic bile duct removal and laparoscopic cholecystectomy during admission can significantly reduce the 30-day readmission rate without affecting the length of hospital stay.
