In the first half of this year, Dongguan exported 693,000 batches of wood furniture with a value of US$1,722 million, an increase of 8.79 percent and 15.42 percent, respectively, over the same period last year. However, since the 2008 financial crisis, due to the shrinking foreign market, domestic costs and other factors, Dongguan's furniture manufacturing industry is facing a round of industry reshuffle, between 2009 and 2013, Dongguan's exports of furniture has been flat or declining every year. In recent years, Dongguan City vigorously develop furniture exhibition, each year more attracted a large number of domestic and foreign furniture buyers to come to see the exhibition orders. The State Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine has greatly reduced the burden on enterprises by exempting them from inspection and quarantine fees, and the new policy issued by the Guangdong Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has greatly improved the supervision efficiency of inspection and quarantine departments for export enterprises.
