Dow Chemical: Third-quarter revenue increased year-on-year earnings exceeded expectations.

Beijing time on the evening of October 27, according to the U.S. financial website MarketWatch, Dow Chemical Company today reported that the company's latest quarter revenue increased year-on-year, mainly due to the growth of its agricultural sector.

Chief Executive Andrew Liveris on Thursday gave an upbeat outlook for the company's business environment, noting that both its North American and European markets continued to achieve "stable" growth.

overall, Dow Chemical reported net income of $804 million, or 62 cents per share, for the quarter ended Sept. Adjusted earnings per share for the quarter were 91 cents, up from 82 cents a year earlier and above analysts' expectations. Analysts on average had expected earnings of 79 cents per share, according to a Thomson Reuters poll.
