Recently, Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (DEWA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with one of the largest shipyards in the Middle East to share its expertise
in solar energy.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has established a solar partnership with Dubai Shipyard
Dubai's Drydocks World, a Dubai-based shipyard focused on transporting large crude oils, is currently operated
by DP World, which Dubai World has a majority stake.
It is understood that the shipyard will work with the Dubai Water and Electricity Authority to develop renewable energy projects and exchange expertise and best practices in asset management and maintenance, as well as other programs and activities
of mutual interest.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Water and Electricity Authority, said the company is committed to working with government departments and organisations with the aim of sharing its expertise
in solar energy within the framework of the Shams Dubai Initiative.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World Group, said: "Drydocks World is a strong supporter
of environmental protection in offshore development.
The project, which combines DP World's Clean Energy Initiative with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, will strengthen the institute's commitment to marine environmental protection and cement Dubai's position as a global hub for sustainable development, aligned with
the UAE's goals.
