    A Dutch consortium including Oil and Gas Royal Dutch Shell Ltd is participating in tenders for several offshore wind farms with a total capacity of 760 MW

    More specifically, a consortium led by the Witwind consortium is already bidding for the construction and operation of the Hollandse Kust (zuid) III and IV offshore wind projects off the Dutch coast

    In addition to Shell, the consortium includes local utility Eneco and marine contractor Van Oord, which is currently involved in the construction
    of all offshore wind farms in the Netherlands.

    Van Oord said in a statement that the partners plan to build a wind farm about 20 kilometers from The Hague and start operating in 2023, with enough electricity to meet the electricity needs of about 1 million households
