Originally published as Eating blueberries a day helps lower blood pressure
A new study published in the recently published Journal of Geriatrics shows that if you eat 200 grams of blueberries a day for a month, vascular function improves and systolic blood pressure decreases.
At King's College London randomly divided 40 healthy volunteers into two groups for a month-long experiment. The volunteers in the study group drank a drink containing 0.2 kg of blueberries per day, while the control group drank a daily drink without anthrin. The results showed that after two hours of drinking blueberry drinks, the volunteers' vascular function was affected, a phenomenon that lasted for a month. During the experiment, volunteers who drank blueberry drinks had a 5mmHg reduction in systolic blood pressure, similar to taking blood pressure-lowering drugs.
study also found that beverages containing purified anthocyanins can also improve the function of endoth endocrine cells, which play an important role in blood clotting and blood pressure regulation. The researchers point out that the effects of blueberries can be explained by anthotin. If eating blueberries a day has an effect on vascular function that lasts a person's life, it can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by 20 percent. (Square grass)
