Eating sugar may slow tumor growth

Kevin Ryan of Cancer Research UK and colleagues studied the effects of sugar on the growth of cancer cells. They report that glycerose slows tumor cell growth and suggest that glycerose may interfere with glucose metabolism. In addition, the combination of chemotherapy drugs cisplatin or amycin to take glycerose significantly increased tumor cell death. The researchers, who took glycerin in tumor mice through tube feeding (three times a week) and drinking water (continuously), found that the treatment was well-versed and appeared to slow tumor growth, either alone or in combination with amycin.
