Economic operation of the automotive industry in July 2020.

In July 2020, China's overall economic recovery continued to improve, the vitality of the automobile market gradually increased, production and sales continued the momentum of recovery since the second quarter, showing rapid growth.
July, auto sales increased 16.4% year-on-year, while auto production and sales reached 2.201 million units and 2.112 million units, respectively, up 21.9% and 16.4% year-on-year, respectively.
January-July, auto production and sales were 1.2314 million units and 12.365 million units, respectively, down 11.8% and 12.7% year-on-year, respectively.
(i) Passenger car sales increased by 8.5% YoY in July, while passenger car production and sales reached 1.729 million units and 1.665 million units, respectively, up 13.2% YoY and 8.5% YoY. By
models, car production and sales reached 810,000 units and 773,000 units, respectively, up 7.1% and 4.6% YoY, while SUV production and sales reached 800,000 units and 772,000 units, respectively, up 20.5% and 1% YoY 4%; MPV production and sales reached 84,000 and 85,000 units, respectively, with production up 2.2% YoY and sales down 0.7% YoY; and crossover passenger car production and sales were 35,000 units, up 36.9% yoY and 8.5% YoY, respectively.
January-July, passenger car production and sales reached 9.483 million units and 9.533 million units, respectively, down 17.8% and 18.4% year-on-year, respectively.
models, car production and sales were 4.445 million units, down 21.5% and 22.1% year-on-year, respectively, while SUV production and sales were 4.417 million and 4.449 million units, down 9.9% and 11% year-on-year, respectively; PV production and sales completed 423,000 units and 449,000 units, respectively, down 42.5% and 40.6% YoY, while crossover passenger car production and sales completed 197,000 units and 190,000 units, respectively, down 14% and 15.8% YoY.
July, Chinese brand passenger car sales were 585,000 units, up 4.5% year-on-year, accounting for 35.1% of total passenger car sales, down 1.3 percentage points year-on-year.
January-July, China's brand passenger cars sold 3.434 million units, down 25% Year-on-Year, accounting for 36% of total passenger car sales, with a 3.2 percentage point year-on-year decline.
, car sales were 813,000 units, down 28.73 percent year-on-year and market share was 18.28 percent, SUV sales were 2.132 million units, down 19.4 percent year-on-year and 47.92 percent year-on-year, and MPV sales were 300,000 units, down 47.21 percent year-on-year and market share was 66.73 percent.
(II) Commercial vehicle sales increased 59.4% YoY in July, while commercial vehicle production and sales reached 472,000 units and 447,000 units, respectively, up 70.3% YoY and 59.4% YoY. By
models, truck production and sales completed 438,000 units and 415,000 units, respectively, up 86.3% and 71.1% YoY, while passenger vehicle production and sales completed 34,000 units and 32,000 units, respectively, down 19% and 15.1% YoY.
January-July, commercial vehicle production and sales reached 2.831 million units and 2.832 million units, respectively, an increase of 16.4% and 14.3% year-on-year, respectively. In terms of
models, truck production and sales increased by 19.6% and 17.4% year-on-year, respectively, while passenger vehicle production and sales reached 220,000 and 217,000 vehicles, respectively, down 11.4% and 13% year-on-year.
sales of new energy vehicles increased by 19.3% year-on-year in February and July, with production and sales of new energy vehicles reaching 100,000 units and 98,000 units, respectively, up 15.6% and 19.3% year-on-year, respectively, the first increase so far this year. By
models, the production and sales of pure electric vehicles were 79,000 units and 78,000 units, respectively, up 17.9% and 24.2% YoY, while the production and sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles were 21,000 units and 19,000 units, respectively, up 7.8% and 2.7% YoY.
January-July, new energy vehicle production and sales reached 496,000 units and 486,000 units, respectively, down 31.7% and 32.8% year-on-year, respectively.
models, production and sales of pure electric vehicles reached 380,000 units and 378,000 units, respectively, down 35% and 34.3% YoY; 0.8 million units, down 17.4% and 26.4% year-on-year, respectively, while fuel cell vehicle production and sales reached 397 and 407 vehicles, respectively, down 66.1% and 63.2% year-on-year.
, January-June, the main business income of key enterprises decreased by 7.8% YoY, and in January-June, key enterprises (groups) in the automotive industry achieved a cumulative revenue of 176.728 billion yuan, down 7.8% YoY;
23.1% year-on-year in April and July, while vehicle exports fell 23.1% year-on-year to 62,000 vehicles.
models, passenger car exports were 45,000 units, down 25.9 percent year-on-year, while commercial vehicle exports were 18,000 units, down 14.9 percent year-on-year.
January-July, auto exports were 448,000 units, down 21.2% year-on-year.
