Recently, researchers from the Department of Neurology, Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical College, published a paper to observe the antiepileptic effect of different doses of Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE) on epileptic rats and its effect on the expression of neuropeptide Y (NPY) protein The results showed that GBE at two doses could protect the brain of epileptic rats This article was published in the 2nd Journal of Zhengzhou University (Medical Edition) in 2014 The epilepsy model of rats was established by injecting kainic acid into lateral ventricle 90 SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation group, GBE control group, epilepsy model group, small dose GBE group and large dose GBE group Each group was further divided into 6, 12 and 24 hours subgroups (n = 6) He staining was used to observe the morphological changes of hippocampal neurons, and immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of NPY protein The expression of NPY protein in GBE control group, epilepsy model group, small dose GBE group and large dose GBE group showed an upward trend (F = 17.335, 60.901, 109.587, 118.669, P < 0.001) At the 6th, 12th and 24th hours after the establishment of the model, the expression level of NPY protein in the five groups was statistically significant (F = 30.859, 126.500, 87.401, P < 0.05); compared with the sham operation group, the expression of NPY protein in the epilepsy model group and GBE group was increased (P < 0.05); compared with the epilepsy model group, the expression of NPY protein in the GBE group was increased (P < 0.05).
