    In recent years, natural plant bioactive compounds, such as polyphenols and flavonoids, have received increasing attention in preventing UC injury due to their strong anti-inflammatory capacity and safety advantag.




    In conclusion, sweet tea ethanol extract has a good anti-colitis effect, and the underlying mechanism may be related to the regulation of gut microbiota to activate butyrate-GPRs (GPR43 and GPR109A) anti-inflammatory signaling cascade, while inhibiting HDAC3/NF-κB activation of inflammatory signaling pathwa.
