Egypt's 580 MW wind farm is about to be fully operational

According to Egyptian media Ahramonline, Egypt's largest wind farm with a cost of $625 million was completed and will soon be fully operational

The wind farm, with a total installed capacity of 580 megawatts (MW) and an installed cost of 12 billion Egyptian pounds ($625 million), is located in the Gabal El-Zeit region of the Red Sea province and is equipped with 300 wind turbines, which is also one of
the largest wind farms in the world.

Osama Noman, the project leader, said that the project is one of the largest wind power projects in the world in terms of land area, number of
wind turbines and installed capacity.

Currently, the first phase of the wind farm is already operational and connected to the country's national grid

It includes 120 wind turbines with an installed capacity of 240 MW

The second phase includes 110 wind turbines with a total generating capacity of 220 MW, and the third phase includes 60 wind turbines generating 120 MW, which will be connected to the national grid
this month.
