Egypt Telecom recently issued a statement saying that it plans to build Egypt's largest international data center to consolidate its position
as the largest submarine cable operator in the region.

Egypt Telecom announced in a statement that the new data center will be operational in early 2021 and will be located in Smart Village
, the technology hub in Cairo.

The data center will have access to all global submarine cable systems to which Egypt has now accessed, as well as 10 Mediterranean and Red Sea submarine cable landing stations, giving it access to more than 60 countries
around the world.

The operator said the data center will have enhanced colocation services and higher levels of
redundancy.
The facility will accommodate up to 2,000 racks
within the 4 Colo Modular facility campus.
Egypt Telecom currently has 6 data centers
across the country.
