Elecnor Chile will reportedly begin construction of the 10 MW Cabo Negro wind farm in Magallanes and Chile's Antarctica region in February

Located in the Laredo-Cabo Negro industrial park owned by Chile's state-owned oil company ENAP, the wind farm will include three 69-meter turbines, each with a capacity of 3.

The electricity generated by the Cabo Negro farm will meet the needs of 6,000 local households, in addition to increasing the share of renewable energy in the region's electricity mix from 2% to 20%.
Manager ENAP Magallanes told the media that the wind farm is scheduled to be operational in December this year and fully operational
in January 2020.
Last year, Elecnor won the EPC contract
for the Cabo Negro project commissioned by Vientos Patagonicos SpA, a power company formed by ENAP and Pecket Energy.
The investment in the project is estimated at $22 million
.
It received $5 million in funding
from the Magallanes Regional Government through the National Regional Development Fund.
