At a meeting of the European Council's Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs (ECOFIN) on March 15, the finance ministers of the 27 EU countries adopted a carbon tariff proposal from France, which holds the rotating presidency of the European Council

As of now, the Council of the European Union has not issued a press release, nor has the officially adopted text been published

Compared to the European Commission's original proposal, the Council of the European Union has opted to centralize the management of the carbon boundary adjustment mechanism to improve feasibility and efficiency

In particular, this progress does not mean that the EU carbon tariff has gone through the legislative process
