Background: Adrenal cortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare endocrine cancer (1-2 cases per million people per year) with a poor overall prognosis
Adrenal cortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare endocrine cancer (1-2 cases per million people per year) with a poor overall prognosis
The 5-year overall survival rate for ACC is generally less than 40%, but it is heterogeneous
Transcriptome maps are the cornerstone of molecular classification
OBJECTIVE: The primary objective was to determine the transcriptome profile of formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples using a novel 3'-end RNA sequencing technology
Methods: We included 131 ACTs: a training cohort from Cochin Hospital and an independent validation cohort from Wurzburg Hospital
Results: In the training cohort, unsupervised clustering identified 3 groups: "C1A" type invasive cancer (N=28, 29%), "C1B" type cancer (N=28, 29%) and "C2" type Adenomas (N=39, 41%)
