Recently, Evonik announced that the company's recombinant non-animal-derived collagen platform Vecollan was officially commercialized

Evonik said that Vecollan is a new differentiated system solution specially designed by Evonik for the medical device industry, and is provided to customers through the Evonik Medical Device Technology Centers in Birmingham, Alabama, Darmstadt, Germany and Shanghai, China.

According to Evonik, animal-derived collagen is currently mainly used in the life science and pharmaceutical fields, so there are quality differences between different batches, the transmission of potential diseases or pathogens, and the possibility of causing adverse immune reactions or allergic reactions
