Automotive giant Fiat announced that it plans to fully switch to electric vehicles by 2030 and plans to phase out internal combustion engine vehicles
    starting in 2025.

Fiat CEO Olivier Francois said: "As battery costs fall, it is our responsibility to bring to market
electric vehicles that cost no more than internal combustion engines as soon as possible.

"We are exploring the field of sustainable mobility for all: this is our greatest project
    .
In 2025-2030, our product range will gradually become pure electric
    .
This will be a fundamental change for Fiat," he added
    .

Fiat has just released an electric version
of its 500 city cars in some areas.
At least for now, the Standard 500 will still be available
    , the report said.
As Autocar points out, Fiat wants to help improve EV use, charging infrastructure, and air quality
    .

In fact, there are already a number of car brands planning to go all-electric in the next decade, such as Mini, Volvo and Ford (at least in Europe) all looking to make the transition
    by 2030.
Honda has set 2040 as a timeline
    for making the transition.
