September 2, 2021, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda through the WTO published three joint briefing, announced a total of three East African Standard draft, involving citrus category fruits and derivatives, fresh mushrooms and their derivative products, Fresh chili and its derivatives

The main situation is as follows:

1.
East African Standard DEAS 56:2021 Fresh Mushroom-Specification, Second Edition (G/TBT/N/BDI/135, G/TBT/N/KEN/1117, G/TBT/N/RWA/514, G/ TBT/N/TZA/624, G/TBT/N/UGA/1376)

This standard specifies the requirements for edible mushrooms, which are freshly supplied to consumers for consumption, and does not apply to industrially processed mushrooms
.

2.
East African Standard DEAS 330:2021 Citrus Fruits-Specification, Second Edition (G/TBT/N/BDI/137, G/TBT/N/KEN/1119, G/TBT/N/RWA/516, G /TBT/N/TZA/626, G/TBT/N/UGA/1378)
.
The standard specifies requirements for multiple varieties (lines) of citrus fruits, which should be supplied to consumers in a fresh state, excluding citrus fruits for industrial processing

East African Standard DEAS 332:2021 Fresh Chili-Specification, Second Edition (G/TBT/N/BDI/138, G/TBT/N/KEN/1120, G/TBT/N/RWA/517, G/ TBT/N/TZA/627, G/TBT/N/UGA/1379)

The standard specifies the requirements for providing consumers with fresh peppers (multiple varieties), but does not include the requirements for industrial processing peppers
