(NDO) In order to continue to improve the efficiency of aquatic fishing, Vietnam's coastal provinces are restructuring the fishery , assisting and encouraging fishermen to develop high-power and modernly equipped fishing fleets, helping fishermen to carry out fishing operations in high-sea fishing grounds, and making great efforts to defend the sovereignty of the motherland's islands and islands.

    .

Vietnam's Ninh Thuan Province proposes that the province's aquatic fishing output will reach 119,500 tons in 2022, of which the proportion of offshore fishing output will account for more than 70%
    .
In order to achieve this goal, Ninh Thuan Province has vigorously promoted the restructuring of the fishing fleet to increase the fishing capacity in the open sea
    .

With central and local subsidy resources, Ninh Thuan Province actively assists fishermen to build, renovate and upgrade fishing boats
    .
Currently, there are 2,236 fishing boats over 6 meters in length in Ninh Thuan province
    .
Among them, there are a total of 778 fishing boats with a length of 15 meters or more and the conditions and capabilities for high-sea fishing according to the 2017 Fisheries Law that came into effect on January 1, 2019
    .

    Mr.
Deng Wenxin, director of the Aquatic Products Branch of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Thuan Province, said that the relevant departments of Ninh Thuan Province have been continuously promoting activities such as encouraging fishermen to go out to sea and preventing illegal fishing in accordance with the advice of the European Union (EC)
    .
The Fisheries Sub-Bureau of this province cooperated with relevant departments to strengthen the publicity of the 2017 Fisheries Law, among which 14 acts of illegal fishing have been strengthened, so that fishermen can fully understand the relevant laws and regulations, and at the same time, they will strictly deal with illegal fishing activities at sea
    .

Similarly, Bac Lieu Province, Vietnam is developing an efficient and safe aquatic fishing model, striving to achieve a total output of 150,000 tons of aquatic products by 2025
    .
Bac Lieu Province is actively applying technological advancements, especially the installation of modern aquatic storage and refrigeration equipment on the high-sea fishing vessels.
Currently, 20-25% of the high-sea fishing vessels are equipped with such equipment
    .
The purpose is to improve product quality, ensure food hygiene and safety and reduce post-harvest losses
    .

At the same time, Bac Lieu Province continued to carry out the project of “Development of Distant Sea Fishing Fisheries”, organized fishing fleets to go out to sea for fishing operations in the waters of countries and regions that have signed fishery agreements with Vietnam; strengthened publicity work to advise fishermen to stop illegal fishing in foreign waters fishing behavior,
    etc.

On the other hand, Vietnam's Tien Giang province focuses on increasing the number of fishing boats in the open sea
    .
Currently, there are 1,469 fishing boats in Qianjiang Province, an increase of 264 compared to 2015
    .
Although the number of fishing boats in Qianjiang Province did not increase much, only 22%, the power increase rate reached 62%
    .

Recently, Qianjiang Province has encouraged the development of a fishing logistics service fleet.
On the one hand, it provides supplies, fuel and fishing tools to fishing boats that are fishing in the fishing grounds, and on the other hand, it purchases fishing boat products
    .
Therefore, far-sea fishing vessels can not only prolong the fishing time at sea, but also improve the fishing yield and aquatic product quality
    .

It can be said that in recent years, the coastal areas of Vietnam have paid special attention to the safety of fishermen's fishing operations while applying modern science and technology to develop fisheries
    .
At present, most of the fishing boats over 15 meters in length in various coastal areas of Vietnam are equipped with voyage monitoring equipment, which is convenient for the management of functional agencies, and on the other hand, can stop illegal fishing in time.
