Immediately after, on a slope of about 1600 square meters, the team cleared out more than 240 dinosaur footprints, which belong to at least 8 species of dinosaurs, such as plant-eating lizard feet, large and medium-sized small bird feet, carnivorous large three-toed animal feet, two-toed claw-like dragons and small animal feet.

The layer of the section also contains rich sedimentary structures and remains fossils such as wave marks, mud cracks and insect traces, showing the activities of many dinosaurs on the shores of the lake during the dry season. According to Yan Lida, an associate professor at the School of Geosciences and Resources of China University of Geology (Beijing), dinosaur fossils can be roughly divided into skeletal fossils and living trace fossils, and dinosaur footprints, as a new branch of dinosaur research, not only reflect the daily habits and behavior of dinosaurs, but also explain the relationship between dinosaurs and their environment, with the irreplaceable role of dinosaur skeletal fossils. Such a high diversity of dinosaur footprints concentrated in more than 1600 square meters of area, for the study of geography, ancient ecology in the late Cretaceous period has a very important value.
