Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will reduce the price of wind power purchased by power generation operators under the "fixed-price
purchase system" for renewable energy by power companies.
It decreased by 1 yen from 22 yen per kWh in 2017 to around
21 yen.
In 2019, it was 19 yen, which is about
14% lower than today.
This is the first time Japan has lowered the price of wind power generation since the introduction of the fixed-price
purchase system in 2012.
Residential photovoltaic power generation with a small generating capacity will be reduced from the current 31 yen to 28 yen in 2017 and 24 yen
in 2019.
This proposal
was presented at a meeting of knowledgeable people held on the 13th.
Renewable energy acquisition fees are added to
electrical costs.
Due to the sharp increase in photovoltaic power generation, the additional amount for the average household this fiscal year was 8,100 yen per year, an increase of about
10 times over 12 years.
