France's 480 MW offshore wind farm finally received permission to operate

France's highest administrative court, Conseil d'Etat, rejected an appeal
against the operating licence for the 480MW Saint-Nazaire offshore wind project.
This means that all administrative permits required for the construction and operational phases of the project are now guaranteed
.

EDF Renewables, a subsidiary of France's EDF Group, and Enbridge, a North American energy infrastructure company, are developing the project
through France's Eolien Maritime (EMF).

Conseil d'Etat's ruling will see EDF Renewables and Enbridge make progress in the project financing process before making investments

"Conseil d'Etat's decision is a recognition of the solid foundation of EDF Renewables and the Enbridge team, which has been working for 10 years and is professional, open and dedicated to bringing the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind project to fruition," said
Bruno Bensasson, Senior Executive Vice President of Renewable Energy at EDF Group and Chairman and CEO of EDF Renewables.

Saint-Nazaire is EMF's first offshore wind farm

According to a recent agreement between GE Renewable Energy and EMF, this means that Saint-Nazaire will adopt Haliade 150-6MW wind turbines
