French Polynesia NATITUA submarine cable construction began at the end of the month

Construction work on the NATITUA submarine cable project in French Polynesia is expected to begin at the end of this month, after the cable laying vessel Ile de Batz of the Alcatel Submarine Network (ASN) will arrive in Papeete,
the capital of French Polynesia.

The NATITUA submarine cable system extends over 2,500 km with a design capacity of 10Tbps and further bridges the digital divide
in French Polynesia by connecting Tahiti to the eight atolls of Lenjira, Manishi, Takaraoa, Kaukula, Arutua, Fakarava, Makaimo and Howe Atolls in the Tuamotu, Shivawa and Nukusiva Islands.

In addition, the NATITUA submarine cable will also connect the United States with an international Internet connection
by connecting Bora Bora Island to the Hawaiian Islands in the United States.
