Background and Purpose: Serrated polyps (PsPs) are precancerous events in 20% to 30% of cases of colorectal tumors, but we know very little about the long-term risk after SP removalTherefore, this study explores the risk of colorectal cancer (CRC) in individuals with a history of SPmethod: Researchers conducted a retrospective cohort study of patients who underwent colonoscopy between 2006 and 2016The subjects were classified according to the size and location of the SPThe risk of being diagnosed with CRC association sancalle was estimated using the Cox Scale Risk Modelresults: the study included 233,393 people, 445 of whom had CRC eventsIn the 10th year of follow-up, the cumulative incidence of polyps-free, near-end small SPs, near-end large SPs and far-end SPs was 4.7 (95% CI, 4.0-5.6), 14.8 (95% CI, 9.0-24.3), 30.2 (95% CI, 13.2-68.4) and 5.95.55,5.5.5.5In patients with SP, the risk of CRC does not increase until 3 years after the first colonoscopy (HR for small near-end SP is 2.6; 95% CI is 1.7-3.9; and large near-end SP has HR of 8.0 and 95% CI is 3.6-16.1)The presence of adenomas also increased the risk of CRC (near end SP of adenoma hr was 4.0, 95% CI, 3.0-5.5, and adenosishry HR far-end SP was 2.4, 95% CI was 1.7-3.4)conclusion: In this retrospective analysis, the researchers found an increased risk of CRC in patients with near-end SP (especially large SP) three years or more after a colonoscopy
