    Further analysis of genome doubling events combined with the genome-wide data of the other five species of the asterids showed that Ilex has experienced two genome-wide doubling events ( Fig.


    The related research results , titled A chromosome-scale genome assembly for the holly ( Ilex polyneura ) provides insights into genomic adaptations to elevation in Southwest China , were recently officially published in Horticulture Research , the first-ranked journal in the SCI journal Horticulture .


    In addition, we use the main languages ( English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Spanish ) of the major distribution areas of the genus holly in Google Scholar, Web of Sciences , CNKI, and Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) , a major academic search engine in South America .


    The above research was jointly funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Western Young Scholars Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Basic Research Program of Yunnan Province
