Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, said in a recent interview that Azerbaijan and Georgia have discussed submarine cable projects in the Black Sea to improve the competitiveness
of the regional corridor.
At the same time, Turnava noted the establishment of very close business ties and friendly relations between the economic ministries of the two countries, which can facilitate the development of the joint hub project and accelerate the completion of
the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project.
"We are discussing the construction of an undersea grid interconnection project in the Black Sea, which will connect Georgia with the EU energy market," the Georgian minister stressed, "In addition to these, we are discussing other projects that can be cooperated, including relevant private and public institutions
with Azerbaijan.

"If there is a region involved in this project, including Azerbaijan, then this project will certainly have greater importance and commercial appeal, Azerbaijan is our reliable partner in providing electricity in times of power shortage in the Georgian market," Turnova stressed

Azerbaijan is Georgia's fourth largest trading partner, with bilateral trade between the two countries totaling $932.
