On August 23, 2022, the German Chemical and Veterinary Inspection Agency (CVUA) released the 2021 Food and Cosmetics Sampling Status Report
.
In 2021, CVUA cumulatively analyzed about 40,000 samples, including about 11,700 food, wine, bottled water and feed samples in 2021 and about 28,500 veterinary diagnostic samples
.
Among them, the proportion of unqualified samples was 16%, a slight decrease from the previous year (2020: 20%, 2019: 18%)
.
A total of 27 food samples (0.
3% of test samples and 1.
7% of non-conforming samples) were assessed as dangerous goods; Hard, sharp foreign bodies were detected in 11 samples and microbial pathogens (Salmonella and Listeria) were detected in 8 samples

The remaining 8 samples were assessed as harmful
due to incorrect or unlabeled allergen labels.
