The second round of tenders for the phase-out of coal power launched by Germany was successfully completed, accepting 1514 MW of tenders against a target of 1500 MW
    .

According to the tender plan, the 1,514 MW accepted in this round of bidding will stop burning coal by December 8, 2021, and these facilities will be compensated
    by the government.

Federal Network Authority BNetzA said the tender for installed capacity came mainly from three bids, the largest of which came from a 757 MW coal-fired facility in Uniper Kraftwerke, a 690 MW facility at Kraftwerk Mehrum and a 67 MW facility
    in Braunkohlengesellschaft in central Germany.

The bidding price in this round of tenders ranges from 0-59,000 euros/MW, and the maximum price that bidders can seek is limited to 155,000 euros
    per megawatt.

BNetzA said no proposals were excluded from the tender process
    .
The agency noted that the latest round was also open to facilities in southern Germany, which were not eligible
to participate in the previous round of bidding.

In the first tender to phase out coal, Germany signed contracts with developers of 4,788 megawatts of power generation facilities that will no longer sell coal power
    on the electricity market.
Bidding prices range from €6,047 to €150,000 per MW, with a maximum limit of €
    165,000 per MW.

The next tender round is scheduled for 30 April 2021
