    GES will install 125 wind turbines for wind farms in Egypt

    Recently, GES announced that it will build a 263 MW wind farm project
    in Egypt.
    The project will be divided into three phases and will be executed
    for the remainder of 2018 and the first quarter of 2019.
    This will be the first wind farm to be executed under the BOO plan (Build, Owned and Operate), a wind farm
    promoted by the Egyptian government.

    Egypt plans to increase the share of renewables in its energy mix and achieve a target of 7GW of wind power by 2022

    The plan, which takes into account significant private sector involvement, will reach 60 per cent
    of the program.
    The energy generated by the project will be sold to EETC (Egypt)
    under a power purchase agreement.
