India and China drive global demand for the coatings market
In 2014, global production of
coatings
reached about 38 million tons, with an output value of nearly 100 billion euros. Unlike earlier growth models, global paint production has grown faster than GDP since 2012. This is largely due to growth in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly as India and China drive global demand for coatings.
2014, asia-Pacific (APAC) paint production accounted for 48% of the world's total, followed by EmEA at 29% and the Americas (North America and Latin America) at 23%.

nal growth 2014-2015 in %
Although global coating production is expected to grow by 2.1% in 2014-2015, market growth varies significantly from region to region. EMEA (0.4%) and the Americas (1.8%) are expected to grow below the global average, while the Asia-Pacific region (3.3%) is expected to grow faster than the global average.
more than a year ago, Western sanctions against Russia have hit confidence in foreign companies. For example, a survey conducted in Moscow by the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) showed that 85 per cent of businesses had a negative or relatively negative attitude towards Russia's economic development. But The Novatic Group, which has made Russia its next target for expansion, entered the Russian market in early July as a milestone in its development.
russian media that sanctions against Russia have put pressure on the German economy. Until a few years ago, Western companies had high hopes for Russia, and paint makers were interested in the Russian market. Today, Russia has evolved into a new conundrum, with crises, risks and insecurity occurring from time to time in the region. This raises the question: how attractive is the Russian Federation to European paintmakers? According to Alexander Zill and Aldin Turudic, two directors of the Novatic Group, the Russian market has great potential for expansion.
market size of 1.1 million to 1.5 million tons
Russia population of less than 143 million, is the world's ninth largest population of the country. IRL, a market research firm, estimates that the Russian paint market size is 1.57 million tons, of which
building coatings
is about 900,000 tons,
prom industrial coatings
is about 670,000 tons, and the annual per capita consumption of coatings is 11.5 kg. These figures are for 2013. The Paint Research Association (PRA) reported lower figures. The association's experts predict that Russia's total coating production in 2014 will be about 1.1 million tons, with a value of 2.5 billion euros, of which 830,000 tons will be produced by construction coatings and 1.7 billion euros will be worth 1.7 billion euros.
two sets of forecasts differ significantly in the valuation of industrial coatings: PRA's market researchers estimate that industrial coatings produce only 260,000 tonnes, worth 805 million euros. The annual per capita consumption of architectural coatings is 5.5 kg (or 4.5 L) and the annual per capita consumption of industrial coatings is 1.8 kg. Chimcourier, a Russian agency, reported that Russia produced about 610,000 tons in the first six months of 2015, including about 360,000 tons of construction paint, about 250,000 tons of industrial paint and 8.6 kg per capita per year.
water-based
products range in price from EUR 0.6/kg (low-end products) to EUR 2/kg (high-end products). Aolic acid building coatings sell for 1.5 to 3 euros per kg. Prices for industrial coatings range from EUR 2 (local product prices) to EUR 10/kg.
