Greek telecommunications company Wind Hellas plans to shut down its 3G network by the end of 2022

Greek telecommunications company Wind Hellas has announced plans to shut down its national 3G network
by the end of next year.

The company said the decommissioning of the 3G network will begin in June 2022 and will take about six months to complete

The spectrum freed up by the shutdown of the 3G network will be used to support 4G and 5G services
.

Wind added that it expects its 5G network to reach 30 percent of the population by the end of the year, while 4G service can be used for full Chinese audio and data usage
