Intrafish November 23: According to a report issued by Greenpeace's Southeast Asia Regional Office, raw material choices for
    Philippines
    and Indonesia's main canned
    tuna
enterprises are still short-cut, lack sustainable resource products and are less reliable. The report, entitled "From the Ocean to

: 2016 Southeast Asia Canned Tuna Rankings", measured the origin,
    ingredients
    and
    supply chains
of canned enterprises, with a minimum score of 70..Indonesia's main tuna canning companies scored: -International Alliance Foods: 68.88 -Deho Canning Co. Citra Raja Ampat Canning: 62.15 mins -Samudra Mandiri Sentosa: 58.59 minsPhilippines Main Tuna Canned Enterprise Score: -Ocean Canning Corp:51.46 mins -Celebes Canning: 44.63 mins -Pacific Food, Inc.: 44.09
.Greenpeace says canning companies in the Philippines do not seem to be very willing to make information about raw materials public and transparent, and it is unclear whether they are sustainable resources, legal or properly fished..Tuna species face severe tests, longfin tuna and yellowfin tuna have been placed on the IUCN's red list of endangered species, and big-eyed tuna has been identified as endangered. Greenpeace noted that surveys show that at least 15 areas have acquired tuna through net fishing, and that the use of FAD catchers, which severely persecute yellowfin tuna and big-eyed tuna larvae, should be stopped immediately. Global tuna transactions were $6 billion in 2015.
