It is reported that the first LNG-powered demonstration transport ship in Guangdong Province was recently launched at Guangzhou Nansha Xinyi Shipyard, marking that Guangdong inland river ships have officially entered the era of "gasification" and opened the era
of green development of Guangdong inland water transport.

The "Beijiang Demonstration Project of Green Transportation of Bulk Cargo", as the first of the ten demonstration projects of national waterway transportation structural adjustment during the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period of the Ministry of Transport, settled in Qingyuan City, of which the promotion of the demonstration pilot application of LNG-powered ships is a particularly important work
    in the project.

In May 2014, Qingyuan Municipal Transportation Bureau, CNOOC Guangzhou Communications New Energy Co.
    , Ltd.
, Guangzhou Navigation Institute and Qingyuan Branch of Guangzhou Bofflai Shipping Company signed a four-party cooperation agreement
on the new pilot demonstration project of Beijiang LNG-powered vessels.
In April this year, the LNG clean energy power demonstration ship of the "Beijiang Demonstration Project for Green Transportation of Bulk Cargo" started construction in Guangzhou, and was recently launched at Guangzhou Nansha Xinyi Shipyard
    .

The demonstration ship uses LNG as the main fuel, which has obvious energy-saving and emission-reduction effects compared with traditional diesel, and water transportation will be cheaper, more low-carbon and more environmentally friendly
    .

It is understood that after the LNG-powered demonstration transport ship is launched, it will be in trial operation in Beijiang (Qingyuan to Pearl River Delta route) for one year, and the LNG-powered ship will be promoted to the province and the whole country according to the work requirements of the Beijiang demonstration project for the green transportation of bulk cargo, and the operation data
will be tracked and monitored by professional institutions.
In the next few years, Qingyuan's waterway transportation industry will usher in a new era of clean energy, and it is expected that 60-100 new LNG-powered ships
will be built in Qingyuan during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period.
By 2020, Bac Giang bulk cargo is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 355,000 tons
compared to major pollutants transported by road.
