Recently, the conversion rate of isobutene in Guangzhou Petrochemical MTBE/butene-1 unit has decreased, which not only reduces the output of MTBE (methyl tertiary butyl ether), but also increases the isobutene content in the downstream butene-1 product, resulting in the purity of the butene-1 product.

A research team was established in the heavy catalysis gas addition area.

After finding the reason, the research team decided to increase the reaction rate of isobutene and methanol by controlling the reflux temperature at the top of the catalytic distillation column and increasing the sensitive temperature of the catalyst bed.

Through continuous research and optimization, under the condition of full-load operation of the device, the conversion rate of isobutene increased by 0.
